Dr. Harvey R. Goldstone, O.D.

Dr. Harvey Goldstone is a board certified optometrist who has been a pioneer in the advancement of the profession of optometry since 1972. Dr. Goldstone has full DEA licensure to prescribe medications, pills and drops to treat a multitude of eye infections and diseases. In addition, he is an expert in prescribing glasses and contacts with 38 years of experience under his belt. He loves the profession of optometry and is involved in multiple organizations to advance the scope and care of optometry. Dr. Goldstone has mentored over 30 optometrists who now work all over the United States. He is a graduate of Southern California College of Optometry where he recently retired from being the president of the optometry school alumni program.
Dr. Goldstone has four children and is a proud grandfather of two. He resides in Huntington Beach with his wife, two cats and two Maltese dogs.
Dr. Goldstone has been involved as a Boy Scout Leader and Scoutmaster for 20 years. He was recently chosen out a pool of 16,000 volunteer scout leaders to receive the prestigious Silver Beaver Award for his volunteering and dedication to the scouting community.
Fun facts: Dr. Goldstone enjoys rollerblading at the beach and playing golf.

Dr. Alan M. Goldstone, O.D.

Dr. Alan Goldstone is Chief Optometrist and Medical Director of the practice. Dr. Goldstone is a board certified optometrist with full accreditation to practice optometry and DEA credentialed to prescribe medications. He is currently a clinical outreach instructor for Pennsylvania Optometry School and also a pre-optometry intern instructor for the University of California Irvine. He had extensive internship training in optometry, traveling to different eye care clinics all around the country. Dr. Goldstone has practiced optometry at Pearl Harbor Hospital in Hawaii, Center for the Partially Sighted and Blind in West Los Angeles, Shonto Indian Health Hospital in Northern Arizona, The Optometry Clinic of Los Angeles in South Central Los Angeles and The Eye Care Clinic of Fullerton. Dr.Goldstone had special training in pediatrics to examine infants as young as one year of age and also specializes in examining the elderly. He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree from Southern California College of Optometry. In addition, he graduated with honors from Cal State Fullerton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and minor in chemistry.
Dr. Goldstone is a consultant for most major pharmaceutical and contact lens companies to help make lenses and solutions more comfortable for wearers. Many of the eye drops used to treat infections and dry eye had assistance with coming to market because of Dr. Goldstone.
Like his father, Dr. Alan Goldstone loves the profession of optometry and believes that every person should receive the best quality care at all ages. Dr. Goldstone enjoys spending his free time as a newlywed.
Fun facts: Dr. Goldstone is an Old Boy member of the Orange County Bucks, a full-contact club rugby team based in Huntington Beach. As a teen he was awarded Eagle Scout, the highest award in Boy Scouts. Since retiring from rugby he has taken up golf and become a vegetarian.

Dr. Alex C. Liu, O.D.

Dr. Alex Corbin Liu is a board certified optometrist with full accreditation and is DEA licensed to prescribe oral and topical medications to treat eye diseases and infections. He has extensive experience with rigid gas permeable and multi-focal contact lenses. Dr. Liu earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California San Diego with a degree in psychology and a minor in teacher education. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry where he earned the Children in Focus Pediatric Optometry Excellence Award. Dr. Liu had extensive internship training and practiced optometry at the San Diego Center for Vision Care, Veterans Hospital of West Los Angeles, Naval Medical Center San Diego and the Eye Care Clinic in Fullerton.
Dr. Liu loves the profession of optometry and has aspired to be an optometrist since high school. He and his wife are overjoyed to be new parents.
Fun facts: Dr. Liu is a loyal Clippers and Dodgers fan. He is referred by many professional athletes and entertainers for their eye care needs. He is involved as a board member on former NBA player Michael Cage's foundation that helps kids in community-based programs. He also works closely with Super Bowl XLI Champion Jason David's foundation to help raise money for kidney disease research. Dr. Liu enjoys running 5K/10K races. In addition, he is CBEST certified to be a substitute teacher.

Dr. Suzann Michaels, O.D.

Dr. Suzann Michaels is a board certified optometrist with full accreditation and is DEA licensed to prescribe medications as well as treat eye diseases and infections. Dr. Michaels earned her optometry degree from The Ohio State University, College of Optometry. She gained extensive experience during her externships at the Veterans Hospital of Columbus, Ohio and Vision Center of Central Ohio in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital, genetic, traumatic and age-related conditions. She was awarded the Varilux Student Grant Award for her research on multifocal lenses for presbyopia. Dr. Michaels also participated in Ohio's Center of Science and Industry, conducting vision screenings and patient teaching. Before her formal optometry education, Dr. Michaels worked with ophthalmologists after obtaining her nursing degree. This led to her attendance at the Prentice Eye Institute at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona for certification as an ophthalmologist assistant. She has a committed focus on providing high quality service, product, patient care and satisfaction.
Dr. Michaels and her husband reside in Huntington Beach and enjoy escaping the harsh winters of their native Chicagoland weather.
Fun fact: Dr. Michaels is an avid Ohio State football fan. Go Buckeyes!

Dr. Bryant Vo, O.D.
Dr. Bryant Vo is a board certified optometrist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003. He is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry in 2007 where he was the recipient of the Robert K. Vineyard Scholarship, Dr. Homer and Marie Hendrickson Memorial Award, and Varilux Scholarship. While in optometric training, his research thesis pertained to “reading eye movements and reading comprehension in children” which was awarded a research grant by the CAAO and can be found in the Journal of Behavioral Optometry. Dr. Vo spent his internships at The Eye Care Associates of Nevada, the Optometric Center of Los Angeles, and The Veteran’s Arm’s Hospital in Bakersfield.
Dr. Vo was exposed to many patient populations, from children to the elderly, inclusive of glaucoma detection and treatment, laser/cataract surgery co-management, and contact lens fitting. Dr. Vo received his National Board Certification in Optometry and is licensed to practice in the state of California. He is also certified in the use of diagnostic pharmaceutical agents (DPA) and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents (TPA) for the treatment/management of ocular diseases. In 2008, Dr. Vo was a delegate for the Orange County Optometric Society for the California Optometric Association (COA) House of Delegates. As of January 2010, Dr. BV became certified in the detection as well as treatment of glaucoma, a certification that currently 3% of optometrists hold in California. He is on-call once per month for UCLA Harbor Hospital, where he manages surgical patients and ocular emergencies.
In his off time, Dr. Vo enjoys spending time with his loved ones, staying fit, and keeping up-to-date in the field of eyes for the benefit of his patients.
Fun fact: Dr. Vo has a personal bodybuilding trainer named Hans.

Dr. Gaithri Ramanathan, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Gaithri Ramanathan is a board certified optometrist and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the Brooklyn Veterans Hospital, where she gained a tremendous amount of experience in treating and managing ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. Dr. Ram graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in genetics and microbiology, with highest honors. Her clinical externships included private practices, OMNI Eye Services, The William Feinbloom Low Vision Rehabilitation Center, The Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and the Newington, Connecticut Veteran’s Hospital. As a resident, she completed a research study, “Structure of the Optic Nerve: Evaluating the ISNT Rule with the Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph 3,” which was presented as a poster at the American Academy of Optometry meeting in 2008. Dr. Ram is also certified in the use of diagnostic pharmaceutical agents (DPA) and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents (TPA) for the treatment and management of ocular diseases.
Dr. Ram resides in Long Beach with her husband. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, cooking and traveling.
